Cenital Music brings its first release with Hyman Bass, ‘Collab & Remixes’, an EP with a collab with Hipoteco La Cassa and 3 remixes from Manuel Costela, Azaria and Don Matias, which are responsible for providing a good variety of styles to this latest work of the Madrid artist.
Cenital Music, the new label that has mounted Nacho Oncina (Artis Noctis / Housekeepers / Sagan Club), is responsible for distributing and editing this work, which includes the original ‘Be Quiet And Drive‘ half produced between Hyman Bass and Hipoteco La Cassa, who have maintained a friendship for a long time and which is their first collaboration of this type; Hipoteco is an old acquaintance of the Madrid rock scene, since he has been a drummer for several groups in the Madrid scene, apart from working as a session musician.
The remixes focus on ‘Borrowed‘, a cut from ‘46 Long EP‘, Hyman Bass’s first work on Voyeur Music, which is dressed in three different ways, transforming itself according to the tastes of the producers involved. Manuel Costela, boss of the labels Bucketround and 2Phonic, is the first to collect the glove and is in charge of injecting the subject with a British spirit with a broken beat touch and a mysterious and hallucinatory atmosphere.
Azaria is an old acquaintance of the Madrid scene that has been part of projects like Cycle and at the moment is one of the capos of the study REC Division, besides being now working with Javier Busto in a series of productions; He takes ‘Borrowed’ for some more cosmic new paths (like Todd Terje, Prins Thomas, etc.), giving him a new perspective that leaves him practically unrecognizable and highly enjoyable.
Don Matias closes the lot, an old acquaintance of the Madrid scene, as much as DJ in his innumerable sessions, as when it is in charge of catch the bass and accompany the group Greenwhales; His re-reading is closer to a re-edit to use, which respects many parts of the original and modifies some with real instruments to submerge it in a dub atmosphere that fits perfectly to close the launch.
