Jackson Swaby is a Fine Art graduate with a love and interest in all sides of art and music that spans many genres. All of these influences don’t boil down to the output of one sound, but an exploration of styles from warmer contemplative grooves to colder crunchier tones. His Fine Art background cultivated the way he thinks about music, especially in relation to a location and environment, seeing music as “a conversational tool of human energy”.
On His first EP for Cenital, Commonalities, Jackson Swaby shares his contemplative warm grooves in the 3 track Commonalities EP. An introspective view of briefly existing in someone else’s story. Jackson describes his EP with a poem:
Take the time to pause.
Wait in the warmth,
Absorb the summer and reflect the time.
The approaching journey is neither yours or mine.
This is someone else’s story which we will briefly share, before continuing ours.
What else can we add? Oh, yes. The Jackson Swaby´s finest deep house is accompanied by a superb remix from our mate Rafa Santos!
So, you MUST listen this work.
“We are all part of another’s story. Sometimes briefly, sharing train journeys or passing in the street. Sometimes for a little longer, entangling our paths before continuing once again on our own.”
